Story Time At The Jaketown!
April 27 @ 11:00 am - 11:30 am
Join us Saturday April 27th for the first every Story Time at the Jaketown Museum! This FREE event will take place at 11am. We will be celebrating Native Plant Month by reading The First Strawberries: A Cherokee Story, and the attendees will get to see the first plants put in the Jaketown Native Garden! Two Wild Strawberry (fragaria virginiana) plants will be put into the garden on that day. AND the kids will get to plant their own native wildflower seed to take home in a pot!
Why are native plants important? They are the ecological basis upon which life depends, including birds and people. Without them and the insects that co-evolved with them, local birds cannot survive.
